The Family Assistance Program at Brindhavan De-addiction & Rehabilitation Centre, which runs simultaneously with the individual’s inpatient treatment, is designed to provide necessary support to family members. This includes the following:

Psycho-education
Learning about addiction using the most up-to-date scientific evidence

Orientation
Understanding what to expect and how to work with the therapy team to increase the positive impacts of recovery on the individual and family.

External support
Al-anon, for example, is a good place to start if you’re looking for a family support group.

Family intervention sessions
Planning for and taking part in structured intervention sessions with the person in treatment.

Communication exercises
Help resolve and rebuild relationships between the family and the patient.

Relapse prevention
The family is involved in the relapse prevention program and shares it.

Attending classes
Visiting the facility on a regular schedule, covering a list of issues related to addiction and recovery
